Son of former NHRA racer Shane Gray and grandson of former Funny Car racer Johnny Gray, Tanner Gray began his motorsports career as a third generation drag racer. Gray naturally followed in his family’s footsteps competing in the NHRA, before making the transition to stock car racing with DGR-Crosley in 2019. While Gray is most prominently known for his drag racing prowess, the young racer has a wealth of experience behind the wheel ranging from micro sprints on dirt to late model stock cars on asphalt. In 2019, Gray competed full-time in the NASCAR ARCA East Series capturing one win, six top-five and nine top-10 finishes in his first full season of stock car competition. After finishing third in the series standings, Gray took on a different challenge, making his NASCAR Camping World Truck debut in DGR-Crosley’s No. 15 truck at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in October 2019. His debut would follow with Truck Series starts at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale and Homestead-Miami Speedway to finish out the season. In 2020, Gray competed full time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series behind the wheel of the No. 15 Ford Performance F-150 for DGR-Crosley. Without practice or qualifying throughout most of his rookie season due to the pandemic, in 23 races Gray earned four top-five and eight top-10 finishes while finishing 14th in the driver point standings. Gray will return to David Gilliland Racing, formerly DGR-Crosley, for his sophomore season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2021. The New Mexico native will once again pilot the No. 15 Ford Performance F-150.
